Re: English Style Injectors

Price reduced to $100.

The injectors were used on my 1" scale live steamers in the 1970s and worked when removed.

Re: 3D Print of Driver Pattern

I might be able to fit your patterns on my printer, send me a message if you are still looking for help. I've done many 3D printed patterns and castings both at my home foundry and at professional foundries. At this time I do not have the time to finish the patterns after they are printed so you wo...

Re: Boiler insulation

McMaster-Carr has some nice woven ceramic insulation with an adhesive back. I have used it twice and it works very well. Being woven cuts easily with scissors and it is flexible so can be formed to some extent around domes and etc. Having an adhesive back makes it easy to apply and stays in place. I...

Re: 3D Print of Driver Pattern

I have considered breaking the pattern up into four 90-degree segments. In doing so include keys or holes for pins to align the four segments into a disc. My printer workspace is a 5.9" cube. The radius of my pattern is 5.4". The chord across the arc of each segment exceeds 5.9". So,...

Re: 3D Print of Driver Pattern

Thank you all for your thoughtful ideas. I will look into Shapeways and find out what they have to offer. I briefly looked into their web page, and they have a multitude of materials and a few 3D printing options. I have considered breaking the pattern up into four 90-degree segments. In doing so in...

3D Print of Driver Pattern

Soon I will have finished a 3D model of steam locomotive driver pattern that I'll need 3D printed for the foundry. The pattern will be two halves split on the radial parting line. Both halves will have four indexing dowel pin holes on the parting line face for locating on both sides of a founder's m...

Old 16 Bit File

I have old, 2006, calculation program called HOBIT. It is used to calculate dimensions and hobbing machine change and feed gears for cutting helical gears and worms. It is in 16-bit format which is not compatible with my newer 64-bit computer. Can the 16-bit program be converted to 64-bit? If so how...
