Re: Never enough time
Don't know what the statements in you post have to do with anything. My guys live inside, are pets, not part of free roaming "pack". In spring they protect the nesting birds outside as if they were their own. Intruders are not welcome. Hard to tell if you meant your free range organic eggs...

Re: Never enough time
And your Great Dane, is he in semi-retirement? He's developed no protective/sense of ownership for your flock? A fox came in and he did nothing? Took my two 20lb mixed breeds on a road trip to see a friend on her farm in Mass. Coyotes/Foxes were injuring and eating local cats and small dogs, just be...

Re: Spotting drill bits
I agree with BadDog. It's not about preference, it's about the right way to do things. Even more critical with large drills with thicker webs. "Boy, those actual spotting bits are expensive...", define expensive? What is the real cost when the last operation ruins the part because the dril...

Re: getting small metal pieces
Same reasons that many "junk yard" no longer allow you to pull your own parts. They now exist as a very sanitized shadow of their former selves, with valuable parts stripped, inventoried and stacked on shelves. The remaining car husk, crushed and bailed along with all the tiny little parts...

Re: Never enough time
How are you going to seal the wind out from your winter coop? Didn't see any poly/Tyvek stapled up across the wall framing. Would think that fence panels would be somewhat loose and drafty. Not good for the birds. Wondered, with all the pens and wire covered run/enclosures, how did the fox get at yo...

Re: getting small metal pieces
I'd buy 200 lbs if the price was reasonable and they had what I want If...they are buying scrap at $20 per hundred pounds and re-selling to you at $40 per hundred, how can it be worth their time/risk? It's not likely that you are looking for 5' long, 4" diameter sticks of steel or 1/2" pl...

Re: getting small metal pieces
Think about it....they are in the business of buying scrap and selling it by the truckload. Aside from the insurance liability of having you in their yard, how much are they going to make selling it at double the current scrap price per pound ($400/ton)? Are you buying twenty or so pounds of steel o...

Re: Drawer Dividers
Must the end mills be stored in your chest? What about simple solutions like holes bored into lengths of wood blocks and the end mills or drills stored upright? Or standing them in plastic ammo reloading trays? Or just cover the cutting edge with tool-net or plastic tool dip. http://www.ebay.com/itm...

Re: Should I Buy a Milling Machine?
What it's worth, depends on what part of the country its in. In Machine scarce areas, prices are higher. B&S collets are easy to find, don't let that deter you. An old Index mill, even worn will handle jobs that a "mini-mill" never will.
