Re: Way oil for DoAll 6x18 Manual Feed

Glenn, Vactra #2 is ISO68 and seems to cause the table to "float" b/c of the viscosity causing some finish problems. I was looking for an ISO32 oil to try to cut down on that issue. I could go to a Vactra #1 but it is hard to find in anything less than 5 Gallon pails. Best price I have found is $89 ...

Way oil for DoAll 6x18 Manual Feed

Any suggestions on a way oil for my manual Doall 6x18? I have thought about Mobil DTE24 and also Vacuoline 1405. If you have any input please let me know. I thought tackifiers in Vacuoline 1405 might cause some stickiness.

Thanks, Steve

Spin Grinding Wheel Before Starting

Anyone ever hear of spinning the grinding wheel several times by hand before starting the surface grinder and making sure that the wheel is still spinning when you start the machine? In the proper direction of course.

Thanks,
Steve

Harold,

Didn’t you put a treatise on surface grinding settings somewhere on the board? I know you outlined depth and step over etc. can you point me to it or possibly post it again here?

Thanks,
Steve in Indianapolis

Adding % in CNC Program/ Anilam Crusader Control

Any ideas how to easily enter a % after every 200 blocks of code? I have an Anilam Crusader M control on my mill and it has the drip feed option through RS232. However, it requires the % to shut down the servos while the machine downloads more code. It is a real pain to manually enter these and I do...

Re: Kurt Draw Bar on Anilam Crusader M

Thanks so much for the pictur Glenn!!! My Kurt drawbar does not have the black hose going to the manifold. I still cannot figure out why so much oil comes out the exhaust port of the butterfly ratchet. It may have been run with too much oil. I will see if I cannot run all of the oil out of it and se...

Kurt Draw Bar on Anilam Crusader M

I have a Lagun CNC mill with an Anilam control and have gotten it to the point it is ready to run. When I tested the Kurt power drawbar tonight there were a few problems. 1) I hit the "in" button and then let it go oil misted out of the back of the push button switch. The same thing happened when I ...

Re-Tram Rigid Head Mill

I have a Lagun FTV2 fixed head on my CNC mill with Anilam Crusader M control. It is indexed to the machine with two pins and slips into a boss in the machine casting and bolts on with 4-3/4" bolts. When I moved in the machine I had to remove the head from the machine to get it into the shop. I have ...
