Re: PM-45M DRO 3rd Axis Mounting Question
The PM45M mill does not have provisions to mount like in the pictures listed. It would be possible to mount direct to the bottom of the quill, however, having glass scales that close to the work wouldn't be too smart. Might go through alot of glass scales. I would like to see any pic's of anyone who...

PM-45M DRO 3rd Axis Mounting Question
I have a PM-45M mill that I purchased from Precision Matthews. The mill works fine. I had Precision Matthews install a 3 axis DRO. The 3rd axis is mounted on the column, which in my opinion is useless. Has anyone come up with mounting the 3rd axis on the quill? I would appreciate any input. Thanks, ...

Re: Which miller Tig to get?
I have a Miller Dynasty and love it. A friend of mine has a China made tig and I hate to say, but it works well at a whole lot less in cost. Both mine and his are a/c units for welding aluminum and they are both 200 amp machines. The problem with most of the import machines is service and parts when...

Re: Looking for a Rolling Tool Cabinet
Thank you. He was a GREAT father. It was kidney failure. No pain. Fast. The top box is a KRA 361A Bottom is a KRA 300B The casters were replaced. The problem is with 2 of the drawers. I think a weld broke on eack of the drawers. For being in actual service from 1961 to 1988 the top and bottom box ar...

Re: Looking for a Rolling Tool Cabinet
That's the one. I have alot of hand tools. Do you happen to know what the weight rating is on the drawers? I can't find any information on the HF web site. I'm not one of those who buys a large tool box only to put a few things in each drawer. I know of one guy who bought a huge MATCO box. It must h...

Looking for a Rolling Tool Cabinet
I currently own a snap-on tool box. It was made in 1961 +/-. The box broke several years ago and according to snap-on cannot be fixed. Snap-on will doesn't give much for a return. The box is old and I understand. A new box is in the $4,000.00 range. I only want a rolling cabinet. I found one in the ...

Re: painting a 5" kurt
I repainted my Kurt vice with "Hammerrite" paint, and is avaiable at most hardware stores. Hammerrite is a tough single stage paint once it cures for 3-4 days. The color selection isn't great. I got a color that matched pretty close and went for it. While I had the paint stripped I hand sc...

Re: High Pressure Washers for home use
I have a Karcher and it is not great. The pump went out after 2 years of light use. The hose reel leaks like all the time. The only good thing is the 13 hp Honda engine. I replaced the pump and still trying to the hose reel to stop leaking. Like the above post stated get at least 3,000 psi of pressu...

Re: Harbor Frieght Blast Cabinet
Thanks for the replies. I think the one I'm looking at is the 36" and comes with a stand. The light is inside, which currently is not. What size shop vac do you run and do you run it at full speed? I was thinking of using a shop vac and putting a speed control on the vac and run it 50%. Never u...

Harbor Frieght Blast Cabinet
Has anyone used the Harbor Frieght balst cabinets? HF currently has a cabinet for sal for $199.00. It has a built in light. It dosen't seem to be to bad. I think one has to connect a shop vac to the side port. The only blast cabinet I have ever used is a "ZERO" with the side dust collectio...
