Re: Another CliShay Build
I have solved the issue with the rear tank overflowing. Tee the line from the crosshead pump to the boiler with the tee running to a needle valve, the output of the needle valve running to the front tank. I fed mine to the filler neck. I keep the rear tank bypass valve closed unless I want more wate...

The left side of the drawing is the rear. The engine is at the front where there are holes for the crank and eccentrics. Consider a...

Had Marty Knox build mine. Works great. We have boiler inspection here in Maryland so consider where you want to run.

Re: Coles Worthington Model Steam Pump
For something similar to the Coles Worthington pump look at the Mich-Cal No2 pump drawings in Live Steam Oct 1986 and Dec 1986. This might be what you want. This uses no castings.

Re: Simple, good looking upgrade for your CliShay
If the wheel size is the same as in the book I would recommend that the diameter be increased to 5" which is what I did. Several who built the Clishay have a problem with the chain dragging when it stretches from use. Just my $0.02

Re: CliShay/Big Bertha question
I have added the plug in the top cylinder cover and adding the cylinder cocks. I am using some details from the engine build for the original Clishay.
Also adding the piston rings as per the original design.

I am building the Clishay/Big Bertha from the Modeltec plans and am planning on adding the cylinder cocks. Also adding piston rings on the piston.

Not sure who is keeping count of the Wendy's but the Chesapeake & Allegheny in Baltimore has one that runs on occasion.
