Re: Ditch lights

Nope. Those light the locomotive steps.. Ditch lights face forward and are a safety feature to make the locomotive more visable at grade crossings. Think about them the same as daytime running lights on your car or truck.

Re: Six Wheel Buckeye trucks

Yes I did try tombeeonline and they emailed me back saying "we no longer sell the semi finished kits.  We only sell the finished trucks.  We do not sell air brake kits for buckeyes."

Six Wheel Buckeye trucks

Who out there offers Six Wheel Buckeye tender trucks as rough castings or semi finished such as wheels and axles done, and with air brakes?
1-1/2" scale 7 1/2" gauge

Or does anyone have a set of castings sitting on the shelf ?

Thanks

Wax Molds and casting

Hello all, I need a little help, I'm looking for someone or a company that can make wax mold and do investment casting in silicon bronze. Currently I am working on the proto type, the parts are small about 1 cubic inch and smaller and casting run will be 25 parts each. Not sure it matters much but I...

Re: I'm just an operator

We call them "Biological Robots" People who run CNC equipment who have no idea what they are doing and have absolutely no reason to call themselves a machinist. I am part owner of a company that does CNC repair and laser calibration. Some of these "operators" do not even know how to perform simple t...

EMD E5a or E6a Prototype drawings

Does anyone have or know where I can get a set of prototype drawings for a E 5 or E 6. I would also be looking for the "B" unit as well.

Thanks

Re: Are 7/8" R8 collets worth having?

From my experience I had a contract for drilling and reaming a 3 1/2 deep hole. Drill was 63/64 taper shank drill cut and turned to 7/8" Reamer was 1" carbide tipped with a 7/8" shank. The hole was welded solid with Esab ER70s wire. I would average 125 holes drilled and reamed before I broke a colle...
