Re: Railroad Supply Springtime Pullman Sale

If you could scan that would be great for me. I sent an email a while back asking for a price on a few RTR heavyweight cars but did not get a reply. Please send me a PM and I will reply with my email address

Re: Riverside Live Steamers Spring Meet

Thanks for the reply Jim. I only can take Saturday off work next weekend so I was checking the odds. But your absolutely right Riverside is perfect for all sizes! If I had more than one day I would bring my 1401 in all its years I don't think it has ever been there.

Re: Riverside Live Steamers Spring Meet

This might be a silly question, but will any of the "big" power be running on Saturday? Northern, challenger or bigboy. I drove down last year from Vegas to see them and none were running. Still had a great time mind you! Just wondering if anybody know if they would be on Saturday this year.

Re: Allen Models Sold

Steve Alley is a great man to deal with and an even better builder and supplier. He has built me a Shay and he has rebuilt two other locomotives for me. Allen Models is in great hands

Attached is a photo of the "Jolly Green Giant" Steve rebuilt from the driving box's up.

Re: Container shelving layout suggestions

Here is what a friend and I did in our container. All made out of 1" square tube and 1/4 flat stock for feet. The single track rack on the right only goes back 3/4 of the way leaving room for a work bench and storage behind it. One tip is when setting the container make sure it is JUST out of l...

Re: Train Mountain 2015 Triennial Registration Now Open

For those of you that are members of TM, I have what I thought was a simple question, but I am finding it hard to get the answer (or at least the same answer from more then one person) Sorry if this will cause any debate, but here is my question. Steam Locos fired by coal or oil, can they run north ...

Re: 2-6-2 Prairie at auction

I started my love steam railroading at Pine Creek, I was the last person to run the Lady Edith and was there when the 26 was taken out of service. Both need major boiler work before they could steam again. And I was there the first day the Lady Edith ran....many, many years ago. And even more than ...

Re: Leaks Allowed?

At our club in Boulder City we hydro the boilers to 1.5 times the lowest safety valve and have the rule "no leaks on the pressure vessel" that includes the water glass. But any appliances that can be valved off can be closed. That's not to say that tubes cannot weep a little at the sheets ...

Re: Youngsters and newcomers as drivers.

When I was 14 I would love spending my days out at the train museum near my house. At the time they had 2 1:1 narrow gauge steamer operative and one day when I was hanging around the shop they were firing up one to test it before the start of the season. Long story short by the end on the day I had ...
