Re: drill dr. or darex?

We sharpened them by hand. I am not nere as good as some though. The sharpener I own will allow even the newbie to sharpen most of our drills with any point that we may need. prior to that only some of the more experieced guys could do it, and do it rught.

Re: Reaming aluminum

Hi Chris. I am glad to hear that you had no porblems reaming the bearing holes. When i ream Aluminum, I use a 90 sfm, and .006 feed per rev. example rpm=3.82x sfm(90) / dia. (.500), or 3.83x90/.500 = 687 rpm x .006 ipr(inches per rev.)=4.125 inches per minute. I drill 1/64 underneath the ream hole s...

Re: Tapping in Stainless

You can use any type of tap, as long as it is SHARP. Be careful not to workhaden the matl. when you drill it. Look up your speeds for whatever type of stainless you are working on. (if you know it) As a general rule, I use between 35 - 55 sfm for drilling 300 series stainless. I prefer OSG, and YMW ...

centering a Jacobs model 50 chuck

I acquired a Jacobs model 50 collet chuck and we know some of you have encountered the same problem... How do I pick up true center of the chuck with the backing plate? Do I simply use the 5/16 fasteners? This seems a little hokey, but maybe that's what was done when these were made. Any help, or dr...
