Oxy-Acetylene flow control for metallizing

I have an old metallizing gun and need flowmeters for the gasses. The guy I bought it from said " I just ran it off the regulators, and used trail and error till it worked " Okaaaaay..... Not me. Ain't happening. I got 2nd degree burns from a radiator once, that cured me of the bur...

Drawing or embossing?

I'm not sure which term is correct. Drawing sounds more appropriate I guess. That's the term they use for doing things like sinks and the little metal caps that go on the "clicker" end of retractable ball-point pens. But those things are made using progressive dies and multiple "draws...

Metal stamping

I haven't decided what I'm doing yet. I guess it really depends on how involved it is, and the machinery required. But I'm more interested in production-type embossing, like with a OBI press or perhaps hydraulic for thicker material. I'll try anything once.....unless it breaks  . Then I'll tr...

Miller 330's

The 330's have the socket on the front panel for a foot pedal. Mine came with a foot pedal when I bought it. They use the almost shoebox size metal one, but hey, it works well. I have a 350lx now so the 330 hasn't been run in probably at least a year. The 350lx is one sweet machine :D

Clamps

This looks like a copy of the German made Bessey clamp. I have never heard of this brand, but I know the Bessey brand is awesome.

Tumble weeds are rolling around here......

Not whole lot of activity in this forum. Why come??? I got a question for ya'. Any idea where one might find info on the process of metal stamping? I have been Googlin', but that is a freekin' joke for the most part. I have been looking for info on embossing. Not an all out search mind you, but when...

Just bought an electrical welding machine...

 No offense dude, but they need a little help. The material you used should be strong enough, it's the bracing that needs some improvement. I'm sure there have been no replies to this post for the simple fact that there will be a live human body underneath what these ramps are supporting. And...

Rod holder

If you keep practicing you won't need a holder to help you control the rod. Experience is your best friend. Just get a thin pair of gloves that fit snugly. This will help you not only hang on to the rod, but allow you to feel where it is in your hand and what it is doing. On thinner materials I don'...

Which TIG????

Go BLUE !! Keep your eyes open for an old Miller 330ab/p. These are fairly high amperage machines that have the high frequency, gas and water solenoids built in. Awesome DC arc for stick welding, PLUS you can weld aluminum. If you are looking at mostly 1/4" one of these machines will be right u...

Thinking outside the box

I had a brain fart this morning and thought I would share it. It's and idea for storage containers for endmills and drillbits. Not sure if anyone else has thought of this but I will post the links below. I thought it was a pretty good idea  I am not affliated with the seller in any way, shape,...

I am definitely not a forklift guru. Is your torque converter and drive plate missing, or junk (for lack of a better word)? Someone may be able to help, just post what condition your parts are in if you have them. Try to be as descriptive as possible, pictures are even better. I won't promise anythi...
