Re: Good Milling Vise

Russ. Yes.. Sight unseen was a bit of confusion in the night. I live far from where one would be for sale. I would not buy one unseen unless someone I trusted looked at it.

Good Milling Vise

Good eve.. It has come to a time that the Grizzly five inch vise on my milling machine is not good enough, it lifts a lot when tightened. There may be money for a better vise, what do you suggest. I would like a vise of similar size, five or six inches. I want one that will last a lifetime of occasi...

Re: M4x0.7 insert screws

I have the intent to do something similar for a special tool I'm making; I stopped while waiting for the [THREAD RELEVANT!] 4mm insert screws. I noticed that a coated insert won't stick to braze, so my intent is to screw down the insert and braze around it, figuring it won't stick but will encase 3...

getting endmills sharpened...

i looked into the cost of a grinder, but that would buy a lot of endmills. Do any of you pay to get them sharpened? If so where? thanks. I found a place that takes industrial quantities, however I have half a coffee can of them. Just hate to throw them out...

Re: Cheap Tools from China....

I can see using brand name tools if all your work is chargeable. Then the customer pays for the tooling, so he might as well buy the best. To me tools are a means to an end. If they work for me I do not care where they came from. A hole drilled by a brand name bit is still just a hole.
