So have had the frames watercut now time to send them off for milling and surface grinding these were cut from 25mm plate. And I have decided to go the C&O k3-a

Hi Team,

Once again i need to poll the wealth of knowlodge gathered in this group. I have hit one last brick wall i'm trying to find the last piece of my puzzle the drawings for a vanderbilt 16vc or 21ra tender drawings that i can purchase.

Hi team, Can anyone point me in the direction of where I can obtain alco drawings, I have contacted C&O and they don't have the drawings I am after so thought I'd ask here with all the wisdom that is in this group. To be specific I am after the drawings for a C&O k3-a the alco order number was R-368...

I'm have trying to work out if it was style 4 or 5 I know it was long stroke Baker inside admission but as to drawings I am lacking

So fellow steamers I have finished my research and am about to start the journey of building a NYC H10a loco using Rail road supply castings and drawings as well as the original blueprints brought on line given the slow post system I expect to be rendering the frames and cross braces soon to be lase...

Have a question apart from the essentially castings have people had success with 3d printed bronze parts in brake hangers, motion brackets etc, also what is the shrinkage allowance given for making a pattern to cast in bronze do you need to allow percentage bigger in your master.

Yeah I know Jim is a top bloke and has helped me prior with my coloumbia 1" project would love to find some Northen castings and drawings in 3/4" or 1" but the Mikado did grab me but have mixed reviews given train mountain is on I'll wait for vendors to come back to me before I set my project in act...

After browsing the build thread and seeing how people have built other mikados I have hope and given the advice from this group I think its possible given there are many suppliers of castings for this project.
