Re: Bolster clearance question

Thanks Guy's. That is exactly what we discussed at the track on Friday and I just wanted to independently verify the bolster question. The wheel gauge we measured and is correct, so the next exercise is to take and set the bolsters correctly. Thanks to all that chimed in. Dick Melcher Trophy Club TX.

Bolster clearance question

Hi All, Was finally able to get some time and I took the loco and the riding car out to a local track here in the DFW area over the weekend. Ran into a problem I have not seen with this car before and would like to ask the expertise of some others on the board here. Seems some of the diagnostics I r...

Re: Bad Vender Service Titan Trains

Guys, I know the delivery of new units is probably something left to be desired.... But I recently purchased a USED Titan Jr. Matter of fact it is # 1963 the poster rig. My objective was to have a smaller engine and weigh less than 300#. Had my first opportunity to take it out to Terrell Tx today an...

SW1/SW 1500 with Honda engine

Hey Gang, I just sold my D&RGW # 50 knock off and I'm looking to replace it. Probably something gas or electric in the form of an SW1 or SW 1500 series or maybe even a small 2 axle switcher/box cab. Obviously majority of those are electric and the gas series in the SW 1500 have the Briggs and Stratt...

Re: Titan Trains Titan Jr electric

Thanks Guy's. This is exactly what I wanted to know. And please don't worry about hijacking the thread. My two choices seem to be electric and gas, but I'm not a fan of the V twin engines.... nothing wrong with them from a reliability stand point but just way too noisy. So I guess the next thing is ...

Titan Trains Titan Jr electric

Anyone have any experience with the Titan Trains Titan Jr electric version? Thinking about one and I have yet to see one at any of our local tracks. Wonder what the general opinion is?

Thanks
Dick

Re: WTB head light for D&RGW # 50

OK well thanks to the input from the members on this board, I think I might have a solution. Went to Home Depot and picked up an MR 11 halogen bulb. Outside diameter is 1.5 inches and it fits perfectly into a 1.5 inch (inside diameter) PVC pipe cap. Now the next step is to turn on the halogen bulb w...

Re: WTB head light for D&RGW # 50

That is an interesting idea of a bicycle light. Think I might drift by the local bike shop and see what I can scare up. Thanks

WTB head light for D&RGW # 50

Anybody know where one can obtain a ready made headlight such as one would use on the 2.5 inch scale D&RGW # 50? I'm not after something such as the prototype has but something close. Been thinking of putting a flashlight lens reflector and pvc cap together, but so far can't seem to find the right c...

Re: Titan Jr. Electric switcher

Well your right and what I have now is the D&RGW # 50 knock off that has the Honda GX 160, 5.5 hp engine. Runs great with a hydro. My only problem is getting it into the pickup and the transition onto the bridge between the engine stand is such that at that weight and only two axles, we cannot get o...

Re: Titan Jr. Electric switcher

Exactly right, the current D&RGW #50 knock off design is too hefty for me to handle. Looking for something in the vicinity of the weight of the Cannonball box cab or the Titan JR.
