SRC Model Pro Polyurethane Casting Resin (Amazon)

I'm trying to understand possible objections to using this over something like BCC qwik cast for pattern and core box construction. This would be nice to use because of the convenience of Amazon e.t.c. Let me know. Thanks again!

Re: Slide Valve Cylinder Castings

I did all the passages as plugs first the poured plastic or plaster boxes..i didn't have the enthusiasm (or skill) to whittle out the negative core boxes

Hi All,

I've been wondering about this, but can't seem to get a definitive answer. Any feedback is much appreciated.

John

Re: Slide Valve Cylinder Castings

Rudd, There were core prints for each port, about 2 inches tall, 2 degree taper on each side. On the cylinder bore side, i left about 2 inches of extra length for a core print. The exhaust passage was the most concerning, as one side dead ends within the cylinder, leaving only the valve face side fo...

Re: Slide Valve Cylinder Castings

Hi Frank,

Spacing between ports in supposed to be 5/16, which is the same width as the power ports. Exhaust port is supposed to be 1/2 inch wide.
