It's held by the 1-64 round head machine screw at the top. I'm concerned it will interfere with the truck pedestal, hadn't really thought of that. I'll try and see. Worst case, I can probably organize a flat head screw with a reduced diameter head.

Thought I would add some visual interest to the journal boxes. Made dummy cellars and dummy bearings. I think the round head machine screw at the top will be ok - will not interfere with the roller, but we'll see. May yet add a pin through the bottom of the surround piece and the cellar. Once again,...

John, There's a hinge of sorts at the bottom of the axle box cover, If I understand correctly. It struck me, last night, which part is it that hinges down, on the prototype: the little piece below the axle, or the big piece that surrounds the whole axle and bearing ? Please provide all the info you can ! I'm very interested in building a small turbo generator too. The Kozo K27 is in slightly larger scale, but it'd be fun to have a working generator, even if it's not used much.
