Re: Bifocal safety glasses
Do you have VSP or some sort of vision insurance? You can get prescription safety glasses with bifocals. Catch is most places charge $300+ a pair. Heatwave is one option for a prescription eyewear online vendor. Bifocal prescription lenses are a $200 adder to their glasses. I know that is big bucks,...

Re: Shop ventillation
Might be worth a trip to your local “indoor tomato” supply store. In-line fans are quite popular with the indoor grow folks. I have had a fantech inline dryer booster fan at my home for 12 years and it has worked flawlessly (we do a lot of laundry). At work one of the guys took the saying below a li...

2nd on hammering a torx bit in the stripped head. That is a pretty solid method of dealing with a stripped socket head bolt.

Time passes by, and brings with it the good and the bad.

I could be mistaken but that does not look like a reversible motor. Have any more pics of the nameplate?

They are good for hot knives, pickup / dropout tests on AC coil voltage and current relays. Pickle lightbulbs (google it).

Re: Compressor timer switch question
I’d imagine you would need a 240V time delay on timer and a 240V contractor rated for 5HP E0100106-8F1B-4EA2-8254-2AB522872452.jpeg The black is what I imagine the existing wiring to be. You would have to disconnect the motor from the pressure switch and add everything in red to act as a run permiss...

Re: Conic Clutch design
Cone clutches made me think of BCS walk behind tractors (made it Italy). They use a cone clutch to couple the engine to the transmission. The tractors are still made today, there are exploded diagrams and videos of the clutch out on the internet if you think they may be of use to you. The tractors a...

Re: Jet Lathe
@duckman903 The manual that NP317 gave the link to has the wiring schematic. There should also be one in the box (or at least there has been one in the two jet lathes I have worked on) If you are lucky the one in the box may have a color key for the wires, if not you will probably have to dig a litt...

No experience but I could see how that would be a neat tool before you let a student run the real deal.
I always think back to this guy named Leon at Butte College that by the end of class was only qualified to operate a file- for good reason.
