Re: Old 16 Bit File

I asked one of my sons who is in the computer business and he provided the response below. I got out of the computer business in 1979 when IBM was making the 3033... It cannot be converted/updated to work on x86/64 architecture. Would need to be recompiled (rewritten). However, they might search for...

Steam engine tragedy

Found this piece of history fascinating. Not sure where to put it but I thought it interesting to share.

Re: Patio's projects

Awesome stop switch Pat. I could have used that a couple months ago... I got a new hip in April or so and during the process of recovery I had difficulty getting on one of my tractors with a high first step. I decided to add a step off the loader frame to make it easier. I fabricated the step and st...

Re: Chlorine injection to well system

When I finally heard back from the manufacturer they said after the conditioner but some have said before.

Since the odor is not in the water after the conditioner presently, I think I will first try after and see what happens.

Re: Chlorine injection to well system

Thank you for the response Dave. My issues are with iron and the bacteria that results causing a bad odor that I remove with charcoal filters as you do. I will be placing this unit post my softener to perhaps causing a less frequent cleaning cycle to the pre filter for the metering injector. I have ...

Chlorine injection to well system

I am adding a chlorine injection system to my well and I also have a softener in the system. Does anyone here use one and do you have an opinion on the placement of the injector being pre or post the softener?

Thanks,

Gregg

Re: sheetrock; glue and screws?

Built six family homes over the years. Smallest one was 2600SF and largest was 5400 SF and never glued any interior panels with the exception of shear walls.

If you haven't got a sheetrock lift do not even contemplate it. :)

Re: Hip replacement

Thanks Rick. I think the moral to this story is get it looked at thoroughly at the first sign of discomfort. I have been with a walker for the past week as I cut back on meds in preparation for surgery.

Russ,

I hope my experience is equally as positive as your neighbors. This physician is nationally recognized and does instructing on the procedure.
But, we all know the proof is in the pudding...

Re: Hip replacement

Bill, I would say 100% that I wish I had not waited this long. I am glad we are through the covid thing as it may have been considered an elective surgery. I was diagnosed with a muscle issue in my leg with no pain whatsoever in my hip. Only after the physical therapist started working the muscle di...
