Re: Rail Bender

Hi Steve,

To each his own, but I have run on track that was not pre-bent, and its more like a carnival ride with a jerk into the curve every 10 feet. Ive had good success using a rail bender. But again, there is no rule that says you have to use one :)

Re: International Brotherhood of Livesteamers site - wheels and common components

Sorry for the late reply, just now saw the post! Yes, IBLS has a GitHub repository. Not so bad once you get used to it, but I am a software developer by trade and use it every day. http://ibls.org/mediawiki/index.php?title=Open_source I can upload files to the IBLS server if you prefer that method.

Re: Joining rail on track

I have used Ken Smith's (of Texas) rail joiner drill gauge and method quite successfully on my little back yard railroad (the Thurber Mingus & Southern RR). I slip the gauge on the end of the rail, mark the holes with a sharpie, then do the three step drilling process. http://ibls.org/mediawiki/...

He and Bob Hornsby moved to Wimberly, Texas to build an expansive and beautiful railroad that is joy to run on (it is the smooth...
