Re: Does anyone sharpen endmills?

I am not sure where you live but in the Detroit area I took about a dozen 3/4 - 1 inch endmills in to a cutter grinder shop to be reconditioned. Cost was 90 something bucks and they were pretty badly damaged. Got them back razor sharp and a little shorter and a little thinner. I have used 2 of them ...

Re: Miniature railroad endures great ice storm 46 years ago

I remember the entire winter was bad. I actually received a special patch from the Detroit Free Press because they felt bad for us paper carriers. Did my route with a sled that year many times because I couldn't get anywhere on my bike and the car couldn't get out of the driveway.

Re: Head Gasket material

Something that thin you might want to make a soft copper gasket. With enough surface area I use .030 teflon sheet for heads and .010 for everything else.

Re: Miniature Engines Valve Sealing

Install your valves and don't lapp them. If you feel you have too, use 2000 grit or higher. You will want a mirror finish. Most people actually make the seal worse by lapping with a harsh grit. Personally I cut my seats and if I get a nice finish I don't lapp. A good finish on the valves and seats a...

Re: Kozo A3 switcher first run

Boy that thing is a beauty! I have been showing at NAMES for 5 or 6 years now and watch the RR guys bring these things in. Don't you get nervous with the skinny cart or is it more stable than it looks. I would think the legs would go down on an angle and the base be wider. After all you go thru to b...

Re: Gasket Cutting

If the gasket is complex I will take the time to make a template. I use 2 pieces of 1/8 inch thick Aluminum to sandwich the material between. http://i770.photobucket.com/albums/xx349/stevehuckss396/V8Demon/DSCN2255s.jpg~original http://i770.photobucket.com/albums/xx349/stevehuckss396/V8Demon/DSCN225...

Re: Hello from the new guy.

Welcome Steve! How are you doing on your supercharged Chevrolet engine? I'm not. I have been working 7 days so I am trying to work on simple things. When work lightens up I hope to finish the blown V8. For now I have been working on a 1/3rd scale mini bike but it is moving very slow. http://i770.ph...
