Re: Was there ever a NG SW1 or 1200?
To actually answer your question, No. EMC / EMD did not build any domestic narrow gauge locomotives. There were Canadian units that used what look like GP7 body styling or components for the Newfoundland NG. Some export models used in Mexico and elsewhere in the hemisphere similarly had SW body comp...

Builders Lists
Has anyone come up with production (builders) lists for the major grand scale train builders like Wagner, MTC, Cagney, etc.? I found a web page for Illinois amusement parks and there were a lot of those and other manufacturers equipment pictured. I still have fond memories of the Wagner 4-6-4 and 4-...

This image appeared on eBay. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Miniature-Railroad-Train-Ride-In-Zoological-Park-Detroit-MI-Vtg-1939-Postcard-/273851340116 It looks like one of the German Cagney engines and even has more German appearance in the front cab windows. It looks like it may have been converted to g...

Re: Timken 1111 (four aces)
Don’t forget that the Four Aces was purchased by the NP wand associated interests may have drawings (NPHS, etc).
The engine has been done in HO brass so tracking down the project drawings might yield good stuff.

Re: I started an Allen Mogul project
Jim I live in Mt.Juliet and am a member at CSME. I have two 0-4-0 battery critters and a Railroad Supply 2-6-0 “project” which has the chassis almost complete and a boiler. I need to build a cab, tender, add running boards, boiler jacket, and plumb lines for steam and water. I live next door to a Li...

Re: EMD E5a or E6a Prototype drawings
Please contact me off list.
I don’t have “prototype” drawings (the real drawings are many details most of which are useless for modeling such as interior fire extinguisher brackets) but do have excellent presentation drawings which would help you build them.

Re: Electric Engine Controllers
Thanks to Daris offline I now understand the SyRen50 circuit. The relays are common 87A parts and wired bases can also be purchased at auto parts stores as can the circuit breakers. The device to the left side of the circuit is an onboard 24v battery charger. I wired in a new DPDT reversing switch a...

Re: Electric Engine Controllers
The Dimension Engineering Syren50 seems like a fit to my situation (see thread I started 24v Reversing switch)
The linked wiring diagram does not identify several components nor give specs for them. Could anyone fill in the blanks so I can unspderstand the circuit and order components?

Re: Reversing Switch/Relay for 24V Electric
Thanks for the replies. Turns out this was covered in a current thread where a Dimension Engineering Syren50 controller was recommend. On the linked diagram there are components pictured and in the wiring diagram that are not identified. It would be helpful to know what everything is and what the sp...

Reversing Switch/Relay for 24V Electric
I bought a 24V Centercab 0-4-0 critter that has a nicely done beefed up homemade version of a Mr. Motion drive based on a Schwinn bicycle motor and controller. Because bikes don't have much need for a reverse the builder provided a simple DPDT bat handled switch for reversing....mounted on the under...

Contact the GH Historical Society. IIRC the green for boiler jackets is a much different color than the Empire Builder green. They produced color chips which included the boiler jacket color and might have some paint advice for you.

Re: Fire Extingusher recall
One of my professional activities involved Value Engineering and there was nothing in it to make the product cost less. Not to say that management, marketing, sales, and accountants haven't used it as a cover for overriding sound engineering. Value does not mean the same thing as cheaper....as most ...
