Re: Foundry Pattern Making

Regarding the 4-6-2 USRA Light Pacific. I am looking for a cylinder drawing which was quite universal to this class of locomotives. If someone has such a drawing, could we maybe talk? Otherwise I need help with some Road Numbers of such locos? I need that as the archive people want as much info as t...

Foundry Pattern Making

Hello
I'm looking for a book, or any information which speaks specifically to the topic of Pattern Making for casting an internally cored locomotive cylinder. I am also looking for pattern making information for the Commonwealth Delta trailing truck.
Any help here would be much appreciated!

Ok great, I'll try to find out exactly what the 80" driver tyre thickness was and then do the spoke thing as you outlined!
Thanks for the help!

Re: Subject matter --------PLEASE READ--------

Thanks for the explanations Harold, I will take note of the points you make and I will just leave my post where it is and search well before I post again. As to the dialogue "behavior" I do my best, on any of the sites, to just bite my tongue even though it isn't always easy! :-)

Re: Subject matter --------PLEASE READ--------

Guidance requested here! I am new to the forum and I just posted the "Scaling Drivers" question, under a new topic! Tell me, did I do that right or should I have put that somewhere else? If so, can I remove it and post it where it "belongs" at this point? In the future, which is the best way to find...

Scaling Drivers

Hello I'm just starting in this hobby and I have a question that should be easy for most of you! I want to cast my own 80" drivers, having the 17 spokes, like a Pennsy. I have a prototype drawing, which is a 17 spoke center but my drawing is for a 72" center casting. I'm thinking that seeing as the ...

Re: "Billet" Cast Iron Cylinders - Not a casting

Hello I am a total newbie here so forgive me if I don't do this right! I am looking to get a message to The Trainman 4602. I saw your post showing your home cast Pacific cylinders, WOW, and that is exactly what I am planning on doing. So, if this message finds you is there anyway that you would cons...
