Re: 3 phase convertor failure

spro is right.
If you are running a 5Hp motor you need only a 10Hp motor to get the third leg.

Re: Better looking SKS

Yes,ctwo
Chinese SKS-D comes with a detachable magazine and we in Canada can own it. But the mag must be pinned to five rounds only.

Re: Better looking SKS

Hi Big Dave, I have a Russian SKS and if I wanted to use a removable magazine, I would have to cut off the front of the trigger guard, make a new trigger catch, weld a piece of a bar under the receiver to hold the magazine and alter the bolt. Too much work. Also here in Canada, the magazine has to b...

Re: CNW Cylinder Pattern

You do not need a draft if the part of the core box, which makes the outside of the cylinder is pulled sideways.

Re: Does Anyone Recognize This Cylinder Design?

The second core box is to make the exhaust passage core. You are missing a body core box which lightens the casting and makes two half rounded bosses for the cylinder cocks. The reason for the round boss on the casting, where the exhaust supposed to be is that the exhaust core got crushed and the met...

Re: CYLINDER PATTERN PT4

I don't know much about the foundry stuff. The sand is mixed in the mixer prior to moulding called PEP SET and is painted inside the mould to protect it from sticking on the casting. In the pictures it shows in the green colour. The glue comes in 1 litre plastic squeeze bottle with nozzle cup. I thi...

Re: CYLINDER PATTERN PT4

The final picture shows the last core around the cylinder bore core. At right is the cope. Vent holes would be drilled through prints in the cope, a bead of that red glue put around the outside edge of the drag and the mould closed and ready for pour. The cope in the picture would have to be turned ...

Re: CYLINDER PATTERN PT4

This picture shows a half core to form the cavity. I made a mistake gluing the two half cores together. I had to separate them to be able to insert the right half core between the two exhaust passages. You can see red glue on the core surface. I also had to glue down the broken male locator.
