Re: Looking for Signal Castings

I remember in the 80’s when our company was upgrading its SCADA system. A tech was rolling a big plastic dumpster type box out to the dock with a bunch of 33-1/3 sized platters. 1 Meg each.

Between the green abd white lens on the top rounded section. Appears to be a cast-in pocket or indentation. Is that w...

Re: 2 1/2" scale 4-6-0 build

Isn’t that the other way around, Russ?

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a slide valve engine with the outside steam pipes from smokebox to the top of the valves.

There were a few inside admission K27’s without the outside steam pipes. Very strange looking.

Re: Rail Bender

If you do not roll your aluminum rail, and use the light aluminum rail joiners, and do not adequately install your trackage to prevent side to side movement as it expands and contracts, you will find the rail joints will kink. If it’s slight, it may go back into position. But if enough tensile stren...

Re: Track Tamping Tools

Re: RGS Goose#7

Hi Dave, Beautiful vehicles! Congratulations! The box bodies were removed to enable the Geese to be used in the final and sad ending to the RGS. Scrapping. I built a three truck Number 4, and tried unsuccessfully to create the original Pierce Arrow front fenders from fiberglass. A couple had them, a...
