Re: Rifle kit

Jeffrey guy, take a look at some of the 80% receivers. Don't know what the Canuck laws are but like on an 80% 10-22 receiver, the hole for the barrel needs to be machined as well as the holes for the trigger group and barrel hold down clamp. You could CNC a receiver like that and it would be a non-f...

Re: Rifle kit

This would be classified as a non firearm since it is pieces that need to be machined and welded together to become a firearm. You can buy 80% 10-22 and AR15 receivers that are not firearms until finished machined.

Re: .22LR Suppressor build

Nothing illegal federally about machining your own semi AR receiver for your own use either, or building your own rifle or pistol.

Re: Kool Mist and cooling systems

I just bought a gallon of Koolmist 77 and it was less than $30 at MSC. This is concentrate, 4 oz makes a gallon of coolant. The secret to keeping the fog down is to use a low pressure container to pressurize the coolant (about 20 psi) with a flow valve and low air pressure (30 psi). Remember this is...

Re: Still Marring On Pipe Even With Aluminium Sleeve

Try wrapping webbing around it. I do a spiral of 1" nylon webbing around the pipe then place in a vice that has v slot jaws. Hasn't slipped yet. If this is a hollow tube, then you'll need something inside the tube to support it and keep it from collapsing. Put a length of solid bar that fits the ins...

Obama's Executive Order on Gunsmiths

Well, as of 7/22 if you do any machining, drilling, or milling on a firearm you'll have to have ITAR registration. $2250 a year. Whoopee!

Re: Upper limit of heating hardened steel ?

Use Kroiloil. Soak it liberally several times then let it sit. If it doesn't come loose, I'd be surprised. Kroiloil is a penetrating oil and I do mean penetrating.

Re: Ajax industries?

I've bought from them.....can't remember what it was (it's a gray hair thing) but I did not have any issues with the item or the delivery. I have them in my list of suppliers and would buy from them again.

Re: Source for Individual Drill Bits?

I usually buy from https://drillsandcutters.com

If you're on their email list, every so often they'll email out a discount code and I'll look and see what I need and place an order.
