Sir,
If the offer is still on the table, I'd be VERY interested. I already have the book.
Thanks,

Re: Track Radius
Well, there's hope, according to https://www.banninglocomotiveworks.com/ ... gton-4-2-4, the minimum turning radius is 15 feet. But you could also consider a turntable at one end of the yard and a 30ish' radius wye at the other end. Or just run out & back.

Re: Binders
I'm eagerly awaiting someone to answer with a source. I looked around for a while but without any luck. I found 1/10 scale chain and hooks at a local R/C shop that they use on the little rock crawler Jeeps. That was close enough for my purpose. I was thinking of asking a buddy to 3D print a couple f...

Regarding the 7.5 vs. 7.25 issue... If the war department is like mine, and couldn't tell the difference, why not have some of each.

Re: Brake Valves
Are you looking for something that looks prototypical or just a valve to control the brakes? I got a valve from Tombeeonline a while back. Works and it's fairly reasonable. Last week at Train Mountain, I got to use it for the first time. That place is so cool. Here's a link address: https://tombeeon...

Ken,
Not sure how many you need to replace, but what about getting some half round beads at a craft store to glue in place and paint? Or get some wood dowel and make some up?

Re: Shelmerdine's Amusements/
David,
Have you contacted Shelmerdine Garden Center outside of Winnipeg? Someone there may know if it's something from their past. They've been around since the 30's I think. They have a website and are on Facebook too. But I agree with Glenn, please post some pics.

Re: Blow down valves
I'll start by admitting that I'm a noob when it comes to live steam, but isn't the point of the blow down to get gunk out of the boiler? Would the water/steam be clean enough to use for that purpose? Don't know, just asking.

The wrench you're looking for is something I've heard being called a spanner wrench or a lock-nut wrench. Check Google or Amazon for Gardner Bender LNW-KIT

Some people sit around watching other folks doing things, while some would rather be the ones doing things. Google this: "A Story of Value" Abdullah Bashar Sarker

Re: Baggage Cart Drawings
I recall seeing one similar to what you describe at the Southern Arizona Transportation Museum in Tuscon. I also saw a nice baggage cart (with pneumatic tires though) outside the Kingman depot but it was older (1907) if I remember correctly. Might be worth a call or visit.

Oh Greg, you don't have enough time. I agree with NP317. You're already there, stay longer if at all possible. Some places I've been and enjoyed; Isle of Wight steam railway, https://www.iwsteamrailway.co.uk/ The Great Little Trains of Wales, https://www.greatlittletrainsofwales.co.uk/ Of the Welsh ...
