Vilter Corliss

Does anyone have blueprints for a Vilter Corliss coupled to a refrigeration compressor? Vilter lost most of these old drawings in a fire many years ago.

Atlantic Project for sale

This is a project that has been under my bench for 3 years and needs a new home. I purchased this some years ago and found the original build to be lacking in quality. I basically took everything apart and started from scratch. - New frames, binders and spreaders. Bolted to existing pilot and cylind...

Re: Printed Challenger Pilot

Ok, next step, you need to print an engine frame with integral cylinders! Give it time, as costs come down and you will see this. Between the time and cost to make complex, cored patterns and finding a foundry willing to do it now days... Plus you could print the liners in the cylinders and only ha...

Re: Printed Challenger Pilot

It was done in Shapeways http://www.shapeways.com/shops/ddi Yes you can have them print a wax and cast it. Its double the price. Plus without cores and runners I would expect a high amount of deformation with a part this large. It is about a 60 Rockwell for hardness. The best way to describe the mat...

Printed Challenger Pilot

Hello everyone. About a year ago I started making the pattern to cast a pilot for my Challenger. As I worked on the project I realized the cost of the pattern was going to exceed the cost to 3D print it. So bit the bullet and did just that; printed it in stainless. The result is something better tha...
