Re: What’s the plan?
Plan to start building my railroad over the winter here in AZ. Always been a dream of mine and finally have the property to make it happen. First loop will be just under 1000 ft with later expansions going to 3300 ft. Already been clearing some mesquite out of the way.

Re: Riding Scale 'Diesel" locomotive
Wms6, yes it was a diesel engine, if I remember correctly it was a 3 cylinder Kubota engine. Also the generator was also the starter. Re: Riding Scale 'Diesel" locomotive
Old rice farmer friend of mine who has since passed away years ago had one. Can't remember if it was a diesel engine for sure but it worked similar to the full sized. Engine spun a generator which powered the traction motors. Pulled the body off once and I'm not sure if anything else could have fit ...

Only person to give me a hard time is a friend who's an engineer for Union Pacific lol Generally, people are really curious and ask a lot of questions.

Re: 730 Old Boiler Dissection
I just realized something, so this boiler (the cut apart one) was originally steel tubes and they were replaced with copper. Copper and Steel are a fair distance apart on the galvanic reaction chart, i.e. the steel will be consumed as the "anode" in the "battery". Heat speeds th...

Milton M-style/industrial. Pretty sure that's what was being used at LALS and Riverside, at least the last time I was there running.
