Re: Drawings for 3' Narrow Gauge Bettendorf & Andrews trucks

Hi Dick, Yes, these are the very same. I'm really surprised the USATC / White Pass 190 class mikes have not been modeled more frequently, particularly among live steamers; but then again, I have the advantage of having seen both of the operable examples in steam at Dollywood and Tweetsie RR since bo...

Re: Drawings for 3' Narrow Gauge Bettendorf & Andrews trucks

Gentlemen, Here's an update on what prototype drawings I have been able to find for cast steel narrow gauge trucks; and for this, I must give credit where credit is due, firstly to my friend Rich Wickett who collects EBT and BLW drawings, secondly the good folks at the Colorado RR Museum library, an...

Re: Drawings for 3' Narrow Gauge Bettendorf & Andrews trucks

Fender, there are differences, as you point out. Aside from having different, typically shorter wheelbases than their standard gauge counterparts, and altogether different, narrower truck bolsters, the narrow gauge side frame castings are also much shorter in height, in order to match the lower coup...

Drawings for 3' Narrow Gauge Bettendorf & Andrews trucks

Gentlemen, I am about to do a production run of 1/20th scale 24" and 26" wheelsets for Fn3 and I am looking for prototype drawings of 3' narrow gauge trucks, specifically, ones that used cast steel side frames. For instance, the C&S had a narrow gauge Bettendorf T-section truck, whereas the D&RGW ha...

Third option: Bring one home!

Well, I borrowed a Hyatt box converted into a GG box from my friends at KLW. And I am measuring it up with calipers in my office.

Japax Wire EDM for Sale ****SOLD****

Gentlemen, In about 3 weeks I am going to be welcoming a new-to-me Sodick 20x32 wire EDM to my home shop, and I need to make some room. What I am replacing is a smaller Japax wire EDM in good running condition. If you have ever wanted to get into cnc and make high precision parts, then this is the m...

Re: HT-C Truck Drawings

Gentlemen, Drawings for an EMD cast steel GG journal box were shared with me recently, but I am still trying to find a drawing for the Hyatt journal box housing. The specific drawing I am after is: EMD 7493059 or Hyatt 4-R 764-1 This is the cast box that makes up the core of the Hyatt 6.5x12 journal...

K4 Trailing Truck Drawing in SolidWorks

Gentlemen, I got a request from a fellow making a Lionel standard gauge PRR K4 to draw up the trailing truck and Kiesel tender trucks in SolidWorks so that he can 3D print them. Since he was wanting to do this on the cheap--and since I already have an intern on hand who is learning to use SolidWorks...
