Re: Info wanted on Select OB Vertical Knee Mill

Many thanks for the replies. Ron, For that return line on yours, is it simply just a fluid return to a small reservoir but no actual pump in there? I lifted mine up off the base it is sitting on to look and there was just a cavity in there. Very happy with it as a nice little mill. And it was an abs...

Info wanted on Select OB Vertical Knee Mill

So I have to say that I am absolutely tickled that I keep coming across smoking deals on stuff this last few months. I got the Enco RF-30 I had picked up all repaired so everything is working well and it has turned into a heck of a nice little machine. Been impressed with what I could do with it onc...

DRO on the Cheap... any suggestions?

If I wanted to have DRO on the X,Y, and Z of my Mill Drill, any guidance on how to do it inexpensively? I have seen some kits out there but I don't really want to invest $1200 into this particular machine and would wait and try to do an investment like that later when I buy an actual knee mill.

Re: Mill Drill Spindle Question - Enco 91002

Thanks Spro. Yes, I am the one with the machine very similar to yours. Was/is the key in your spindle simply a solid pin pressed in, a roll pin, or was it a threaded bolt similar to what is shown in the fig noggle picture above? I have been through all the parts diagrams I can find for Encos and non...

Re: Mill Drill Spindle Question - Enco 91002

Many many thanks John, I was going to do that test with a file tonight. Glad to hear someone second the notion that you could get by without it without any issue. Very much appreciate the help here. I am a complete dullard at the moment when it comes to these things so just been delving in and doing...

Re: Enco 91002 Clutch Question

It is an r8. Any value in fixing it? It is all apart so if it is something of value I will fix it.... If there is no value I will just pack the bearings up and put it back together.

Mill Drill Spindle Question - Enco 91002

Hi again and thanks for the help previously. Still working through the clean up and repair of the Enco Mill Drill I bought. I was able to repair the first issue that I found and get that working properly only to find that the previous owner apparently had a thing for sheering off pins in this machin...

Re: Enco 91002 Clutch Question

Many thanks Spro. I was able to get everything apart successfully and found that it was simply a broken pin in the clutch that had sheared off and then been left to grind away for years and bind. Drilled out the pin and replaced, took a bit of 320 to the shaft and walla.... works like a charm again....

Re: Enco 91002 Clutch Question

Thanks Spro. Could you perhaps post pictures of the left side of your machine? Curious how far the nuts are adjusted on that shaft as I am thinking that might be the culprit is simply poor adjustment from the previous owner.....

Re: Enco 91002 Clutch Question

Thank you for the warm welcome. Ya for this one instead of a push button such as I have seen on others, there is an black screw on collar that sits to the right of what I captured in the first picture. The circular silver item sitting off of the gear is the clutch on this and it has teeth that when ...

Re: Enco 91002 Clutch Question

Adding a couple pictures as well of what I am asking about. Once more sorry if these are stupid questions and or not in the right area. So I am wondering if I simply need to be 1) adjusting the nuts on the left side to pull the shaft to the left so that the clutch doesn't get pushed in as far and su...
