Re: Auto rack

"Do you need to scan?" Micro Mark and others are not 1/8th scale, you need some way to convert 1/25th scale into 1/8th in the right format. Micro Mark sells scanners I believe. It has to be used in the computer that runs my 3D Router or maybe a 3D Printer if I ever purchase one. Too much ...

Re: Auto rack

From Micro Mark I purchased three truck kits in plastic in 1/24 scale. My idea is to scan the parts with a scanner I'm yet to buy, and reproduce some, not all, of those plastic parts on the 3D Router I have. They would be done in 1/8th scale. When will I do the work, what material will I use, wont b...

Re: Anyone like shapers?

I just watched that U Tube video. I use the "Ye Olde Egyptian" method to move heavy stuff, several round pieces of pipe! Why did he not use several round lengths of pipe under that shaper? I took the Kelly Shaper apart, when delivered, to clean and move, and while I was moving the base wit...

Re: Anyone like shapers?

I have a Kelly that I bought with the 1908 B&S 1-1/2 Mill, BIG MISTAKE! It was the 1970's, I thought I could use it, even changed the motor to single phase. Sorry to say, it is now been a looooong time, and I have yet to use it for much, just takes up space! I've no intention of getting rid of i...

Re: SB chucks rotary table and misc.

I have a morning routine:

1 Check Home Machinist.

2. Look at certain news sites.

3. Read the emails.

In the 20+ years I have had the Internet I have yet to look at Z or Y or X, or such sites by any other name!

Re: Hot glue gun

For my Pella Windows facing to the front, southeast, I needed a diamond lattice to match some from Pella already installed, I used a glue gun! After a few weeks there was a pile of sticks laying at the bottom of each window, the summer sun had done its work! Reassembled using a real glue and clips, ...

Re: Speedy Melt forging machine Model B16

https://mifco.com/foundry-furnaces/high-speed-melters/

It is NOT for forging, but is mainly used for melting a small amount of metal in a crucible.

Mostly used in schools, labs, or by hobbyists, it is now called B160.

You need to go past "C" to reach "B" on the above site.

Re: Lost foam casting

If you are wondering why there are so many frame parts in photo #3, it's because I worried about failure when I poured. I made many of the same kind while I was in that process. The frame will be poured in several parts, and then TIG welded together and machined. I may never get that project finishe...
