The motor is a little permanent magnet ac/dc motor with brushes. I call it a sewing machine motor because it is so small. It does great job for me doing little things. Attached is a picture. What are some suggestions and opinions for spindle motor Speed Control. I have a small 3 axis bench mill that uses just a plain Jane ac/dc motor (1/10 hp I think) . Looks like the waxes were shot using rubber molds. Rubber molds are great for some things, but if you want to maintain quality, accuracy and consistency one needs to use Aluminium or equivalent hard molds to shoot waxes. The manufacturer is trying to save time and money but the quality will suffer.

I thought about loosing steps, but in some instances the distance grows and I would not expect that with loosing steps. Not much, but .002-.004 makes me scratch my head.
