Doubtful TVRM would want to use it on an excursion.... the only place to run is to summerville now that NS is out of the game. It is too big and less well suited to that trip than 4501.

Thanks for the EPRR info. Curious how you handle multiple sections in a "block"? ie how many times one car wonder trains will group up in 2-3 sections and run with the first claiming a signal and the last releasing.

Do you use ties that have the molded in tie plates? I'd assume this would keep the gauge in check better. Also anyone experiment with using longer sections of rail, say 20-40ft sections instead of ten foot? Is that common thought that the steel rail doesn't wear rolling stock wheels anymore than alu...

Typically full size locos never use cold water for hydro tests either. Even on the small size firing up with hot tap water would let you fire up much faster without potentially stressing the boiler. At night if you are going to run the next day fill the boiler up full, kill the fire and just let it ...
