Re: Progress on my Little Engines "C.P. Huntington"

anyone built a 4-6-0 from these castings? Seems like an old time 4-6-0 might be a neat locomotive. I guess quite a bit smaller than a allen 4-6-0

Curious how the trailing truck pivots? Looks like it has less travel or flexibility than say a delta. Just curious

Re: New Decapod Frame from Allen Models

wasn't there a 2-10-0 built from Roger Goldmann 2-8-0 castings? I've never seen a photo of the 2-10-0 or his 2-8-0.

Re: Surveying techniques?

you want as wide of curves as are humanly possible on the mainline. The wider the curves the less maintenance to keep it in gauge etc as it won't have as much force "spreading " it out. Shoot for at least 60ft min radius on mainlines. This way you could potentially run a 4-8-4 or 4-8-2 without probl...

Re: New member from Texas thinking about a K36 (or 37)

Almost any track can handle a 4-6-2, 4-6-4, 2-8-2 ( USRA heavy etc). It's when you start having four 9 or 10 inch drivers ( 4-8-2, 4-8-4, 2-10-X, etc) that you really start to feel the tightness of switches and curves.

a 2.5 scale RGS 20 4-6-0 might be a good option. Big, but not too big etc...
