Thanks for taking the time to write this up. One thing I have thought about but not tried is to use form taps. But after reading your descriptions I don't think they will work well.

Funny I was just struggling with an issue modeling something today and I reached out to a friend of mine, he had a great quote:

"3D modeling is like wresting with a bear. You will never be stronger with the bear, but you have to be smarter than the bear". Very true!!

The Reading society has a huge number of drawings available. I got several for my 0-4-0 camel project. I know you said CNJ but the Reading had a lot of camelbacks as well.

As far as I know Jeff's C-25 is in 1 1/2" scale. But he very well may have drawings as he offers a complete drawing package for the C-25.

All, These parts are all printed and tested now. Between the time I first printed these Shapeways changed their rules for sizes. I had to upsize the lettering on the lid to meet the new larger sizes.
