A friend of mine bough a mini 14 and hated the groups, he called Ruger and they said it fell within the acc standards, 10" at 100 yd IIRC.

Then a HF it shall be. After all it's you you must please not us. Telling someone what to buy is always a hard thing for me to do as its your money. If the maching works as it should, does the jobs you ask of it and your happy with the price, what else maters?

In that case I would look for weight and with of bed and pick the one that had the widest bed and heaviest weight. I have not seen a Jet or Griz so cannot comment on them. I do have a Jet 9x42 knee mill and it has done all I have asked of it, not the best I have run, but it gets the job done.

The 9X20 will do just fine for small stuff, the bed length and spindle hole would be my concern at 20 and 22 inches a rifle barrel very long, say over your bed length will not fit unless the spindle hole will let it's Dia pass thru it. Model 12 break down

It's been a long time sense I worked on a Model 12, how does it break down? I remember the pin in the mag needs to be turned and slid out, but I don't remember if the action needs to be open or closed and how the barrel is removed.

Your not alone, happens to me all the time. Batterys for a tractor 3 weeks, suf plates from Enco 6 months, Rifle barrels 1 year, call from a Doc about a medical test 3 years and counting.
