Re: cad drawing of a 1" scale tie?

Are those dimensions for 1.5" scale? If so, what would the dimensions be for 1" scale?
Thank you!

Thank you for the thought Adirondack, but I really sort of like not having advertisements on the pages.
I appreciate your interest though.

Re: Milling a helix

This looks really really cool.
I hope one day to have a tiny percent of the skill required to do cool things like this.

Re: Aluminum molds for ZA-8 casting?

Water Putty!
Wow, I wonder if it can take the heat ? ZA-8 I think requires 750 degrees.

Or could the water be baked out of it before trying it?

Re: 3d printed parts

Are you asking about 3d printed patterns for casting bronze or is there a process people are doing and printing bronze directly?
Thank you.

Re: Aluminum molds for ZA-8 casting?

Thank you! Oxidizing the aluminum seems like an interesting idea. One of my friends needs some journal boxes. We got the idea of cutting out a mold using my little, working CNC machine...but it is so little I don't think it will handle much more than aluminum...and getting a thick enough graphic blo...

Aluminum molds for ZA-8 casting?

Would it be possible do you think to use aluminum for a mold to cast ZA-8?
The melting temps are 2 or 3 hundred degrees apart.

Or would the ZA-8 bond to the aluminum like that aluminum solder we see sold on late night TV??

Thank you,
MIke

Bugfix outage today (Today, Sunday, 8 or 8:30 central)

[It is Done!
Multiple Pictures should be fixed]

I will be making a patch to attempt to fix the multiple picture upload issue.
This will happen about 8:00 or 8:30 am central.
The system will have to be rebooted. I suspect it won't take more than a few minutes.
