I agree with running it as is. Another option besides a blind driver is to reduce the width and depth of the flange on the middle driver(s). This was sometimes done to increase the lateral motion on these drivers, yet retain some flange. There is a photo of such an arrangement in a book on Colorado...

Could anyone help point me in the direction of sourcing the dual indicator gauge in the cab? I’m assuming it’s a dual vacuum gauge indicator which is what the society I’m a part of uses for train brakes. I’m planning to build Southern Pacific Narrow Gauge #9. So currently I’m in the planning stages...

With the injector style nut on the bottom, it’s an Allen. I know where the tooling is. . . And have ten test sets of castings to try out. If things work out, this check valve may become available again.

The great thing is, these are standard Master Car Builders (MCB) erector set truck parts, and build into a variety of trucks. My first set will be West Side style logging trucks. I may keep inside brakes(or not). Waiting for wheels from Cattail, pattern went in last week 5860D915-3EF7-4141-BC21-994D...

They also don’t drip down you neck while shooting rods. Also, no stress on the pressure vessel by having the bracket riveted directly to boiler. Also cleaner air to air filter.
