Some of later SB 9's and Light 10's were the only ones that had V-belts available to them. Hi LL, Surprisingly, the SB 9 was available with V-belt drive almost from the beginning. Here is a picture from a 1936 catalog showing a 9" Workshop model with V-belt headstock: http://img.photobucket.co...

I agree with the others: if not too worn, this is a very nice machine! You will appreciate having that long bed. Gives a lot more "elbow room". The chuck on the spindle appears to be a 5C collet chuck. ...the cabinet is wrong, or at least quite different from most I've seen. It's closer to...

Re: Miniature Maytag Engine

I realize that this reply is pathetically late, but I only just discovered this forum. I know the engine you're referring to, as I am the builder. Re: Good news on the Horizon

Rec'd the first two issues the other day, and am very pleased! I was particularly delighted by the included B-size CAD drawings. This is what I do for a living, and the quality of these drawings is just great!

Re: Spark Plug

The 3/10 John Deere engine kit from Dinky Dears uses the NGK ME-8 plug -- at least that's what my kit came with. While I haven't started working on the engine yet, I did try out the ME-8 plug in my Duclos Odds 'N Ends engine, and it ran just fine. I like the ME-8 plug much better than the Stitt M-80...
