I use a stencil and paint all my lettering. If you use a low pressure airbrush it does not bleed under the stencil.

I also use 0.001” per inch plus 0.001”.

I just did some 8” drivers and it was right on.

On a side note the axle bore shrunk 0.0002” after I installed the tires. I had to take that much off the arbor I was using to turn the wheels.

I'm curious are you asking what the numbers are about behind the color ? start with the first color lowest number and work your way up on a scale by weight that is the way we mix paint at the body shop I work at let, me know if this helps? At Ridge Live Steamers we have started to use a universal female air fitting. It will accept 5 or 6 of the more common types of male hose fittings.

Then there are the paint numbers I have found. Here is what I have found on Pullman Green. The first number I came up with was Dupont 5502 this is from C&NW passenger locomotive paint diagrams. It should work.

I use One-Shot paint for most of my stenciling. But I have also used PPG ALK200 for my latest project.
