Actually that part is considered part of the pressure vessel and should be SA-515-70. A36 is a mild steel and is used for stay bolts.
These are per the ASME code. Even if you are not building a code boiler why not use code material.

You need to be sure what the safety valve settings are. Won't do you any good to hydro to 125psi if the safety's are set at 125 psi also.

The really important thing is to have enough tongue weight. Don't load a lot of weight in the back of the trailer.

BTW make life simple and get electric brakes. New trucks like my Chevy have factory controller wiring.

Buy a 6x10 trailer. Hauls my 800 lb. Shay and three 2 1/2" cars. When you get home after dark from running all day just park it. Rain or shine.

Actually every steam engine will give you a bath until the pipes and cylinders warm up. Only takes a few seconds.
