Sounds like your best method is to set the barrel muzzle end in a collet and support the chamber end in a steady rest and indicate on the bore. The use of a floating chamber reamer holder would be the best way to cut the chamber. It will depend on the lenght of the bed as to how deep you set the bar...

What are they???

Yes I know they are reamers but what are they made for. ??? They came out of a old guys gun shop. they are graduated sizes
I neglected to add sizes ..371, .3695, .343, .312, .250

Thanks for the heads up on the holders and inserts, I picked up a set and I think they will work out great, I make a lot of small parts and these seem to fit rather well. The inserts leave a glass smooth finish on 12L14 and that is what I use most.

I get my blades from McMasters-Carr I have had good luck with the Starrett blades. Just remember that at least three teeth should be in the material when cutting other wise you will strip off teeth, don't ask me how I know :cry: With 14 ga tubing getting 3 teeth into the cut when one gets close to ...

I get my blades from McMasters-Carr I have had good luck with the Starrett blades. Just remember that at least three teeth should be in the material when cutting other wise you will strip off teeth, don't ask me how I know :cry:

I have used soap stone marker to control solder flow. The kind used to mark metal or in welding

I use the link belts on all my equipment, never had any problems with them. McMasters has them.

I concur with Frank I have used Boggstool and the files are returned in excellent shape and sharp. My swiss files sets are better than when they were new if that is possible. and very cost effective
