Re: Jet 1336 PBD Lathe

Mine isn't exactly yours but I have read there are hidden screws or clips. At this point, you may inspect, lube and reset the pre load of those rather large bearings. The bull pulley has an oil port accessed by a screw between some Vee and it will line up with another-but- this may be different. If ...

Re: What is This Thing?

Anyway. It is a thing which you don't want to take head off just now. Plenty of water now but who knows about next year's drought. Stick a little wire flag pole next to it, so don't mow it down.

Re: Introducing my son to machining.

I'm a wanderer off a distinctly good thread here. Mr. Atunguyd, salute to you and your son. These are the times where he really learns and has a jump start over conceiving without actually knowing how to get there.

Re: Introducing my son to machining.

Well, far as I know Fein was the first. The patent expired or anyway, everyone got into making copies. Hospital use was cutting casts off. I had to believe how neat that was. These are great tools because they work differently than any other. I did the same thing Steve G did some years ago. I had cr...

Re: Layout dye

I regret my earlier post about blue dye. I've never used "dye" but Prussian Blue and Dykem. So the post was based on neither directly and falls into the category of rhetorical hyperbole.

Re: Layout dye

One area of my basement shop had similar treatment. I don't remember why that can of white paint was sitting there. I was actually cleaning and that can hit some object on the floor. It started spewing paint everywhere. Got white stripes across machine bases, tooling, etc.

Re: Layout dye

I just use the blue in smaller tubes. It does separate over time or temperature extremes. I try to knead it, remix it. It is tempting to remove the cap but that isn't air in there. It is a chemical component of the mixture which vaporized.

Re: Rant about Home Depot

We have investigated Sterling Engines or similar to generate electric power. It also expels heat and there is a boiler involved. During winter that heat could be piped radiant inside, quite remote from the engine. I guess everybody knows this stuff.

Re: Help ! Please send boat !!

IT was going somewhere, anyway. These Great Force, every one of our fellow American technicians risk their lives to save others. Helicopters to huge trucks and buckets and saws and poles. All to get it working even at basic level. They know and dang difficult to do. So many First follow the clearanc...

were it to be

Can we imagine the snowfall in dead winter? Were it that this amount rain became snow this winter. I would think this would be equally dispersed but of course, no. It doesn't help with all the volcanoes erupting and thousands acres of trees burning west Here and in Europe. Other places we don't know...

I thought John was kidding. but he wasn't.. It all happened before. We look closely at the mountains and million years ago a basin. Layers upon layers of what still stands. Awesome ancient Earth.
