Hi... The boiler connection side of the valve is 1/8 npt. The outboard side is threaded 3/8"-40 and is made for fittings to connect to it for filling the boiler, or redirecting the steam outlet at a 45 or 90 elbow down. Hi Chet; Good advice by all... Some things I can add... Barry recommended spraying all the threads with penetrating oil prior to disassembly. I recommend, for season to season reliability, disassemble the injector to at least ensure the washer and check poppet stayed lubricated for the winter. When ...

Hi David; Anthracite requires a lot of air to burn it... if you leave it cool by closing off draft, you'll be on a siding for a while looking for some way to get it going again. I would recommend finding a source of soft coal and testing your loco on that for a while to get going, or at least mixing...
