Well it had to come apart to fit in the S10 under the cap, as well as just so it could be lifted in. I can't carry a lift AND the machine in there even if I take the cap off. And the machine with base weighed about a half ton, two guys were not lifting it safely, nor one guy (me) getting it out agai...

The way the "brushes" that make contact to the rotating part are set affects the allowable rotation. if the motor will rotate either direction, the brush o=position may be a compromise. If the motor always will go one way, as a treadmill does, the brush position (angle etc) can be optimize...

The QC looks a bit better now....... An RPC, or any other motor, typically draws about 30% to 40% of full load current at idle. But not to worry, the "power factor" is so low that the actual power "wasted" when it is idling is low. possibly 5% to 7% or so of losses. Not going to break the bank, but worth turning off...
