Re: For Sale: Backyard Rails F-7 Train Set
BUMP...have had some nibbles. Nothing serious. On guy offered a ridiculously low offer. HE...thought that was reasonable. Sorry pal.
In any case, the price for the locomotive train set including riding car have been reduced to $15,000. Carl B.

BUMP...this piece of equipment is still available. With warmer temps approaching, would be great addition to any equipment fleet and/or train.

Re: Tom Bee Brake Regulator Mount
Hello Schlick...simple ideas? Well, here's two ways to approach your problem. Did a brake job on a Mogul for a friend back in 2017 using a Clippard MAR-1 pressure regulator. The stock MAR-1 needs to be modified to replace the 10-turn regulator knob with a 1/2 turn Acme thread and handle to achieve 1...

Re: Why are these springs necessary
Jeff... There's no good way to determine the spring rate in advance. It's something you "get a feeling for" by moving the points during turnout assembly. When setting the spring stops/collars...push the point over maybe 6 to 8" back from the tip of the points. You're trying to simulat...

Below are two photos from Ron Shupard's photo collection I recently inherited. The Pennsy T-1 tender gave a new meaning to the term..."long distance tender". Geez those were beasts...but not quite as long as the loco. Pennsy had an array of long tenders for various locos. Even in HO gauge...

Steamcrane... Have a friend that purchased a pre-fabricated 2-cylinder, 2.5" shay engine several years ago from a guy down in the Dayton, OH. Believe he re-did the original Harris drawings or at least updated the drawings for the 2.5" scale. His name is Ken Hemmelgarn. He might be affiliat...

John, interesting comment there... "Until you get exposed to something, chances are you won’t know it existed." Thanx for that explanation. Most people are aware of the table top model railroads and even garden railroads. It's the larger trains that don't get such exposure. In some cases, ...

Re: Rail Bender
Jeff... Here's another 2 cents worth of experience...would suggest the following... 1) do not use aluminum rail joiners. Once drilled, don't think those are strong enough to hold the rail in alignment. Particularly in curves. My local club years ago found a supply of "steel flat wire" whic...
