Re: Auto Darking Welding Lens.

I wear bifocals too that is why i use cheap reading glasses because when you have to tilt your head up to look up close, then the whole hood tilts and you sure cant see then. Put your good glasses in a suitable pouch and don the pair of reading glasses that focus the best at the distance that your w...

Re: Auto Darking Welding Lens.

I have had several AD lens in helmets. The first couple did say in the warranty papers that there was a battery inside. Ive had two that used AAA batteries inside. I either scratched, dropped or was stole but nothing lasts forever. The ones with internal batteries were glued or fused together and we...

Re: Rotary valved engines

I would like to point out that most of the rotary valved engines that were mentioned were 2cycle and the piston covered and uncovered the ports ,the rotary valve only let the mixture into the crankcase and then prevented it from coming back out. Nothing like a true rotary valve, which would need to ...

Some glasses change quicker than others but none as quick as an auto darking lens which leaves a period of time where you just can't see good enough. Just put the high dollar photogray saftly aside and use the cheap reading glasses or a cheater lens, and i like the idea of using hot glue to attach a...

Just my 2 cents worth, i can run a bead holding and guiding the rodholder by griping the lead 2-3ft up the cable using a good DC machine but need both hands on the rodholder to run a bead with AC . Pluse , DC doesn't shock nearlly as much as AC( unless your air arcgouging and touch your cheek with t...

Auto darking glasses

I welded for many years, burned my eyes many times( usually because of another welder working behind me, or inadvertly hitting my rod on something while shifting position). I never burned my eyes while MIGing or TIGing or even using a plasma cutter. I too had to use singlevision glasses( reading gla...

Just grind a deep bevel all around then clamp in angle iron and tack, trun and tack, clean the tacks and weld across break, turning and welding in one continus operation then bury in dry lime or wrap in insulation for a slow cool. after good and cool, grind and file smooth. Almost as good as new! Go...

IT sounds like your set to hot . Turn your heat down and if still have trouble, speed up wire speed w,(you might be spraying the metal on)slow wire feed means long arc/higher voltage, you might try clamping another piece of metal to act as a heat sink and to start the arc on then quickly moving over...

I too have a dog problem ,cats too but only because my wifes dog is so small (6.5 lbs.) if wifes dog was bigger it wouldn't be afraid to get of the porch at night when let out to do her job. She shouldn't be afraid in her own yard! The dogs and cats come in my yard and make a mess in steade of their...
