Re: delrin for bushings in barrel vise

I've used Delrin and yes it is too slick.

It will work with Rosin. If you don't have any, forget it.

Re: How to chamber a 22 barrel

I'd just buy the reamer and been done with it. I've made many chambers using a flat pointed drill that works fine. Then I got to making .22 barrels for the Ruger 10/22 using blanks and figured it was easier to use the reamer. Most chambers don't even have the counterbore. Look at your Ruger Rifle an...

Re: First time cutting flutes in a barrel

I've fluted lots of barrels, mostly for .50 BMGs and other .50 variants. You'll need a way to spin them to get consistent spacing. I cut on the top dead center using a carbide ball end mill. To keep stress in the barrel to a minimum, I always cut in stages. I go half depth on one flute, flip it 180 ...

Polishing cloth turned rough side out to the barrel will grip a polished barrel enough to spin it without messin it tp. Just rip a piece off that surrounds the barrel and chuck it up.

That thing is a work of art. I've been pondering buying the plans for it myself.

Seeing these pictures has made me want to do it even more.

How were the plans? Were they complete? Any mistakes or anything left to the imagination?

Great pictures by the way. Thanks for posting them.

The Homeboy Compound Sine Plate

A few months ago I started a thread about building a compound sine plate to do various things, I figured it could come in handy. A search on Ebay produced ones that were either too big or too little, so I decided to make one. A compound sine plate isnt something that gets used just a whole lot, but ...

I use a lot of Stressproof at work. Its good stuff. Its what we use for making tools when we cant heat treat. Stressproof aint even in the same league as 12L14 which I use a lot of also. The tensile strength of Stressproof is 125,000 PSI. This puts it way above most steels. Its comparable to heat tr...

One way to make a case trimmer that cuts a case without any burrs in about 3 seconds is to find an old key cutting machine and modify it. I made this to cut a large amount of .223 cases into .300 Whisper cases. Since the Whisper is a .223 that it cut at the shoulder and then sized in a die that size...

Here are a few pictures of a taper attachment that I made for my Chinese 13x40 a few years ago. It works well, I mostly use it for tapering gun barrel blanks. Some of the parts are painted with HammerFinish Green (purchased at Walmart)that is very close to the color of the lathe. The slide is 15" lo...

So what if anything do you have to do to sell it ? Papers, need numbers stamped on it ? Technically, you dont have to do anything. It is highly reccomended to stamp some sort of number on it. That way if the police ever see it, they wont want to confiscate it because it dosent have a number on it. ...
