Re: Rolling some circles

Another thing I was wondering, can a flat sheet almost six inches in width, and the length of the perimeter of the ring, have the recessed area in it bent with a sheet metal brake, and then roll this whole thing, or will a roller take the dip out of the center? How many stages do I need to consider ...

Rolling some circles

I am trying to figure out a way that I can feasibly roll some rings to match some that I need to copy. The rings are made out of approximately 5/32 flat sheet, and are 22 inches in diameter. They are about 4 inches wide. Simple at this point, just take a four inch piece and roll it. HOWEVER... the f...

Re: Looking for One in the Pensacola area

Just what kind of mill are you looking for? Manual only, smalll, large, CNC, early CNC, Milldrill, tabletop, Horizontal, Vertical, Universal, etc? I purchased another Maho, and it has been sitting on a trailer under a tarp for months due to my workload (at work) and my lack of getting to cleaning ou...

Re: What are these called?

I passed one of those clamps on to a friend after receiving them from "Gunboatbay", and was over at his house this weekend and saw it "in use". Made me smile, remembering that they were a selfish donation from a member on this board. I probably use the remaining two as much or more than any other cl...

Re: milling titanium

I, like Harold, have had unpleasent memories while working with Titanium. Difference is I kept the part in my toolbox, where it still sits to remind me that I don't need no stinking work hardening metal like that stuff. I have another piece of material sitting on the hump in one of my old p/u trucks...

If .5" is the biggest thing a BP is supposed to use, I better quit using it and start using a Maho, as I like to keep under TWO INCHES with the BP and four with the Maho. David from jax

With a little, no make that a lot of patience, you can adjust the guides on even the cheapest saws to cut reasonably straight.

Ruger will also add part of the gun's serial number to the "new" cylinder so that people will know in the future that the cylinder in question is actually safe to shoot in that firearm. I recently purchased a single six in .22 and the guy gave me another cylinder that wasn't in the same rough shape ...

Considered going back to the original size? Just weld large fender washers in the right place inside and outside the channel while the pin is in place and you won't need to enlarge the holes to make up for the egg shape.
