5C Chuck
dp,
What is the 5C Chuck for? Why would you need it in lieu of the 3-jaw or ER Collet Holder? Just curious.

Hiram, I looked through your manual for G9729 and agree with your assessment of both the accuracy (or lack of in this case) of the instructions and the proper method of adjusting the gibs for the crossfeed carriage as indicated by your friend. It appears that you have tapered gibs that are adjusted ...

G0516 experience
Dale, The first point I'd make is that the mill mounted on a round column (as opposed to dovetail ways) is a bad idea. I've read numerous articles about that set up and it results in movement of the mill head when you least need it. The second point is that I have a Grizzly G0516, a much smaller ver...

Great addition Jose. I am curious as to the function and use of the magnetic chuck. Is it electric? Can you turn it on and off? What are the limits on using it on your lathe (what limits are there in weight or geometry for the piece to be machined)? Please post some pictures of it in use when you tr...

Re: End Mount or Side Mount Mill?
Hi Dwayne, Heck of an nice first job. I've got a 3-in-1 with an end mounted mill and have been wondering about the pro's and con's of the side mounted style you bought thinking yours may offer better milling flexibility and capabilitiy. Mind if I ask you a few questions? 1. Have you had a chance to...

New Machine - First Real Part Made
Hi all, This a novice home machinist, with a new Grizzly G0516. One of the first items of business for me (after trying to get tooled up), was to get something I could face off steel with in the mill. I located a nice cutter, but the draw bar needed for the new cutter is 3/8-16. I am not sure what t...
