Moe Locomotive Works - 2-6-2 engine

I was going through an old issue of LS&OR and saw an advertisement from Moe Locomotive Works for a Maine style 2-foot gauge prototype engine, a large 2-6-2. Moe was going to offer it as well as a western-US based steam locomotive like a GS-4 or something. It also said each year he was going to intro...

Modeltec magazine - full listing of issues

Does anyone have a complete list of issues of the magazine? I have some but not all, and have heard that in the last year or so it got hit or miss when issues came out. Thanks.

The September 1978 Model Railroader also has GE 44-tonner drawings, as do several issues (#51, 52) of Extra 2200 South magazine.

Re: Caboose Marker Lights source?

I ordered a set of FAMC directly from them about 2 months ago. I just called them up (the number is 615-371-0697) and talked to Joe Gaddes. Within a week I had my lights.

Re: Shout out to Dave (Trainman4602)

Odd question. I won't need safety valves for several years, as my engine is still a ways away. Can you purchase them and store them, or will they freeze/rust/lock up over time?

Darkening / "bluing" brass?

I have a small gauge 1 live steam engine that uses sprockets, gears, and chain... all of which are brass. I don't want to stand out as shiny, but paint likely wont stick to them (especially after they are greased and the engine has been run a bit). For steel, gun blue would probably be perfect. Is t...
