Re: New to 3/4" scale

Hello everyone, I just I should introduce myself a little with this project. I have been part of 7.5" gauge for 20ish years built or helped build numerous locomotives and cars. I do have machining experience (nowhere near the skills of guys like Jack Bodenmann). I have considered making the sw...

Re: Alcalde & Coalfield Steam Up

Congratulations on your first steamup, Jack! And a tip of the hat for inviting your build helpers for the first steamup.

I would love to get down that way for a steamup sometime, with engine or two in tow!

Re: Pattern Making

At some point, what is your "wait time" worth? Might be worth a test pour to see what the outcome is.

Re: 15” gauge Cagney

Yeah, he got that backwards. I'm guessing 1500' rail for 750' track. Unless it's 750' rail for 375' of track.

Re: Seen this Locomotive on Ebay Today

The 2-10-4 is a joke. It's a blind gamble. I was in the area this past year, and emailed him ahead of time to see if I could stop in and look at the locomotive prior to making a decision. He told me I could come look at the crate but it was closed. Didn't seem interested in someone looking at it. Fo...

Atlas MF-B Horizontal Mill musings

So, I picked up an Atlas MFB Horizontal Mill quite a few years ago. I had to replace the knee screw as it was bent, and few little things here and there. It's not been used in the time I have had it as I still need to tweak a few things. I've been debating selling it as I want to reorganize my shop ...

Re: Two one-lung pump questions

I'm not of much help with the tech questions... But I thought I'd share some 3D images that I drew up about a year ago. I was really struggling with the CA Street drawings and decided to whip it up in CAD. The color coded passages helped me so much and everything fell together. From there, I drew th...

Re: 1” scale air brakes

I really need to get off the pot and start tinkering with electric brakes for rolling stock.... I've been wanting to test my idea for electric brakes (yeah yeah, get off my lawn) for a while now...
